What is a Sound Walk?
Part Deep Listening Experience
Deep Listening® is a practice cultivated by composer Pauline Oliveros who invites us to listen to everything in every way. We listen to our environment, ourselves, and one another through a compassionate, non-judgmental lens.
Part Introspective Meditation
Sound Walks help us to slow down, observe,
take in information that we'd otherwise walk past or ignore. When we are walking with intention and connection, we are able to experience the world through listening in a unique way.
Part Community Gathering and Performance
Sound Walks invite us to commune in nature or in urban environments with ears wide open, curiosity and creativity as we as the listeners and walkers become a new part of the landscape.
Part History Lesson
Some Sound Walks can entail bits of history, lectures, or guides. Ours will highlight the voices of our community of Marlborough to paint a picture of the diverse and deeply rooted history of Marlborough.

What will it entail?
On each walk we will gather at the designated space of either the Marlboro Nature Trail or the Falcon, depending on which walk you choose to take. You can of course take both!
For the Nature Walk, we will meet at the trail head just below St. Mary's parking lot on 9w. There will be signage and folks to guide you!
For the Marlboro Hamlet walk, we will meet at the Falcon Parking Lot by the waterfalls.
When you RSVP you will receive a welcome email detailing all the things you'll need to know and how to get there, what to bring, etc. !
